WELCOME TO THE PRACTICE
Our physician’s specialize in two
areas of medicine —gynecology and gynecologic oncology. This
means that they provide not only the traditional medical
services needed by women but that we are also experts in the
treatment of cancers that affect the female organs.
Those of you who have chosen
Gynecologic Oncology Associates for your annual checkup will
find the advanced training of our physicians very reassuring.
You may never need it, but it will always be there as an
additional resource.
For those of you who have been
referred by your family doctor, it means that you will have the
benefit of our extensive training and knowledge as well as some
of the most advanced techniques available to diagnose and treat
your particular problem.
We
believe that the physical and social environment where our
patients are treated is almost as important as our medical
expertise. The office is extremely attractive and convenient,
and our staff are committed to providing outstanding service as
well as state-of-the-art medicine. They cultivate a relationship
with patients that is characterized by attentiveness to their
emotional, as well as their medical, needs.
OUR REFERRAL PHILOSOPHY
We are
extremely sensitive to the concerns of referring physicians,
namely that we:
-
inspire
confidence in the patient, who may be very concerned about her
condition;
-
communicate
with the patient so that she clearly understands her
circumstances and medical options;
-
respect the
referring physician's relationship with the patient ; and
-
communicate
with the referring physician in a timely manner.
Our
physicians keep referring physicians fully informed about the
treatment of their patients through telephone calls and letters.
We also invite physicians to call with any questions about their
patients’ progress or to ask for additional details. Oncology
patients might continue to see us on follow-up visits; however,
We assume that the referring physician will quickly resume
primary management of the case.
